I’ve had this random plant for years, and it was thriving and growing wonderfully. Suddenly, seemingly overnight I lost the whole darn thing. Every leaf crisped and crumbled every stem turned to stone and the plant just died, I’ve cut it back I’ve replanted I’ve washed the roots everything I can think of , nothing helping. I’m down to the root ball and what looks like potential growth but hasn’t emerged in months and months of care. Any suggestions? Once this one goes, I don’t even know the name of this beauty or try to find it again.

    eeeewwww icky root rot!! Clean that thing and cut off the worst roots ASAP. You might have to lose them all and attempt to propagate new ones

    I had a similar type of begonia. What I had done was took some leaves and made some insurance cuttings. One thing I found out was that I had it under a grow light all year round, and it actually requires not being under a light constantly. I have it at this moment in itself facing window. I live in the Phoenix area, so it’s perfect Light and it’s about a foot away. Also, definitely don’t water it as much as it says it to be. Water it may be a day or two after it says because I was over watering and it wasn’t drying out. It was constantly wet. Thank goodness I had some insurance cuttings it regrow back and it looks better than ever. It’s sad to say, but this is something that happens with the fuzzy begonias. And it’s just trial and error. But don’t hesitate on moving them around in a different location of the house to get light but not all the time and not always indirect or direct. So I have to do the plant game shuffle when the new season rolls around.
