Was gifted these pothos and monsteras, wondering how I can make them thrive? I have them in my living room where it is mostly light.

    I haven’t had a Thai Con so I won’t comment on them, they can be quite finicky. My Adansonii is a humidity and light fiend. He’ll let you know by yellowing leaves or crispy tips. It can also be easy to overwater slightly by following Plantas schedule without checking the soil first. I would honestly just chop those 2 bad looking leaves at the base also. Same with my Pothos. It’s good practice to check the soil instead of blindly following Planta. I’ve also found that the more light you give a Pothos, the faster they grow (within reason). But they’re good in any humidity level.

    I just listened to the Plant Daddy podcast episode on monstera adansonii, they had a lot of good tips. Essentially it likes good drainage, (chunky, barky soil) and the best way to make it look nice is to either train it up a pole, which will make the leaves get big, or to grow it hanging but continually trim the vines back to the base a few at a time so they are always being renewed, because if you let the vines get long they just get scraggly no matter what even in high light, which has definitely been my experience. As for pothos I've never had one, but I don't think it's as fussy.
