Can someone here help me with my aloe plant? I'm not sure what to due with it to stop it from looking so sad. I don't want to kill my plants I just want to keep them alive that's the whole reason I got this app. It's like an odd green color that doesn't really show up in pictures. Thank you in advance
I can try to help you run through some possible causes to narrow down what the problem might be - is it possibly in too big of a pot? Aloes like being more snug in their pots, and getting rootbound between repottings, so I’d opt for something no more than 1-2 inches in diameter than the width of the aloe’s root ball. Being in a smaller pot will make it dry out faster, lowering the risk of overwatering and root rot if it’s not sitting in excess moist soil for too long. - have you checked the roots? I would check the roots for signs of distress given the flimsy look of the leaves. If you’re unsure if the roots look alright or not, feel free to attach a photo and I’ll try to confirm for you if the roots look alright. - do you allow the soil to completely dry out between waterings? How many days do you wait before watering it? I would wait at least 18-25 days before watering any aloe. They need to be bone dry before being watered again. - do you know what type or brand soil it’s potted in? If it’s not a cactus mix, isn’t a well-draining mix, or is Miracle Grow Brand, the soil might not be well-draining enough, leaving it to take longer than it can handle to dry out, and leading to the change in the leaves. If any of those sound about right, I would repot it in a well-draining cactus mix. I swear by Espoma’s Organic Cactus and Succulent mix. Please avoid Miracle Grow’s soil, even their cactus mix, as it isn’t well-draining enough, especially for an aloe.

I have a aloe plant that is thriving, one thing might be is it getting enough sun? My aloe is in direct sunlight and gets around 7 hours of sun and is growing giant. If it is not getting full sun try to move it to a more sunny spot. Best of luck with tour aloe plant!
2 likes Definitely agree that sunlight could be a contributor, but the look of the leaves is making me think it has to do with watering habits or the soil. Aloes enjoy at least 6-8 hours of sun ☀️

I have about 35 of these guys and they need direct sun! I personally neglect mine and it shoots out new plants every few weeks as long as it has plenty of sun!
