Okay, I’m new to gardening and bought some clearance plants for low risk practice. This azalea I got from Home Depot. I scrapped the trunk of the plant with my fingernail and saw it was still green so I took it home to try and problem solve with it. It’s got a lot of orange/red leaves, and the ones at the bottom are completely shriveled. Should I just cut the bad shoots and water it regularly or will it need more specific care?

I would cut the yellow / brown leafs off and if it’s dry then water

I cut all the discolored leaves and thoroughly watered. We’ll see what happens.
