I need some helpful, friendly tips on my Aloe2. Her stem is not squishy, actually pretty solid, white and light green. She’s in Succulent Cactus Soil, and a terra-cotta pot. I trimmed back my other aloe and added the pieces to the soil. Shes sitting in the shade, but outside. Im hoping she can be saved. Please Help!
From the photo, the soil looks a bit bark-heavy. Aloes usually prefer a very gritty, fast-draining mix (more sand, pumice, or perlite). The pot may also be a little large, which can keep the soil wet longer than the plant needs. A slightly smaller pot with a grittier mix could help a lot. Aloes need full sun, move her into the sun. But if she’s been in shade for a while you’ll need to acclimate her to full sun. ☀️
3개 좋아요 Okay! So she will be happy in the sun, I was afraid she would burn, but I’ve also learned the go kind of dormant in the winter, so they are adjusting to the outside heat again.

Completely agree with Whit_Y on this, especially in downsizing the pot size. Succulents enjoy getting rootbound between repottings, so try to opt for a pot no more than 1-2 inches wider in diameter than the width of the aloe’s root ball.

I have a huge one that just had pups and she’s in bright Florida sun all day every day!! She started after I had guess a few pieces from a friend for a sunburn and then I just threw the other piece in the yard and omg she’s so big and beautiful thriving in the sun ☀️
