Poorly Chinese evergreen - advice please! I probably should have come to this group sooner but my Chinese evergreen is rather poorly and losing leaves. I have a tendency to overwater so have been following the Planta guidance for a few weeks but it’s still not looking good. I’m thinking this is possibly root rot - I’ve seen some people cut off the rotten parts and try to revive this in water until it regrows roots - what do you advise?
Mines doing the same thing! It looked the same as yours and mine did have root rot so you may wanna just check it! But mine hasn’t bounced back so if you do figure it out you’ll totally have to update us!💚
1 likeI kept this in water for a couple of weeks and there seems to be some root growth so I’ve repotted and am now going to put under a grow light to see if I can nurse it back to health 🤞🤞
Poor Chinese evergreen got a LOT worse before it got better. Once again the leaves started to go yellow and drop off so in the end I was left with 1 leaf. I ended up cutting it back to remove all the roots and putting it in water until it grew roots again (which took a couple of months). The remaining leaf eventually fell off but this time a new shoot came through! Once it had a strong root I popped it into compost with perlite added and it has now got a new shoot coming through. Fingers crossed it gets stronger from here on in
