Hi everyone! I’m hoping someone can tell me how to save this guy. I was a bad plant mom and need to change that around, starting with bringing my first baby back from a down spiral. Any and all suggestions welcome! Please help! ✨ Thank you! Edit: Also, she seems to struggle with draining moisture fully,she stays damp for like way too long and I even have the soil that helps with that.
Hi there!! I am a newbie and only from trial and error have I learned things so far. Is the room colder? I have noticed since I live in the PNW even inside my plants soil is colder and stays damp. So I added a heating pad under their pots and it seems to help.

I like this idea because my soil stays wet in what seems like an extended period of time. But, as a parent of over 200 plants I have to wonder if this might cause stress on the roots. 🤔Wet or dry roots either for too long can cause root damage leading to root rot. How long have you been using the heating mat? And is it a plant seedling heating mat or heating pad? Lastly, Have you tried amending your soil? Adding extra perlite, vermiculite, orchard bark etc? Do you aerate your soil between waterings? Stick a chop stick or larger and longer instrument in the soil and wiggle it around gently. This is good for the roots and allows better circulation of air around the roots. Even watering a bit less might be needed. I tend to water less often, it’s humid here and cold as well. Extra perlite is my friend and it’s not too expensive.
0 Likes Wow, I like the heating pad addition. I live by the ocean, so I have high humidity and my plants seem to take a while to dry. Have you tried adjusting in amending their soil? Try adding extra perlite, orchard bark, or vermiculite?
