First time raising a Strelitzia Nicolai, my dream plant. Keen to set it up for success, but these observations are making me nervous. - 3 huge plants in one pot - roots poking through drainage holes - leaves curling upwards - not the brightest spot in the house, so have it under a grow light It’s a brand new arrival - how long to wait before I do the inevitable and split the three plants up into their own pots? All advice warmly received

I think it probably just needs a repot or you separate the 3 and pot them separately. I personally don’t always wait to repot even if the plant is new to my home. That seems to be more personal preference. I think the grow light is a good idea and the leaves may just need time to adjust and will most likely uncurl with time.

Thanks for the encouragement! I’ll keep an eye on it for a week or so, then split them up I to bigger pots. I want them to grow really tall.

When I got mine I immediately repotted and it didn’t droop or have any bad side effects
