Hi! Does anyone know how I can improve the health and growth of my heart leaf shaped philodendron? It has been in the same taracotta pot for the last couple years(I spray painted it). It seems to be growing all towards one side regardless of how I have it facing the sun. I noticed the baby leaves coming in are yellow and will sometimes be droopy or just fall off. I used to water it with a watering can from the top, however for the last couple years I’ve been bottom watering in the sink. I’m looking for advice on what type of containers I should repot it in, what soil to use, and how to avoid growth on only one side. Please give me any advice about how to make my plant thrive! Also, if you have any tips and tricks on how to cut them and propagate to create more plants, I’ve not been successful in that so far.

    That honestly doesn't look like a heart leaf philodendron. Heart leaf philodendrons are vining plants, and it looks like that one is growing upright, at least in the center.

      Hmmm that is just the type of plant it told me it was when I uploaded it to the app. Do you know what it might be instead?

      I would guess that it might be a philodendron dragon tail? I'm not totally sure, but I'm guessing it is some kind of philodendron.

    Definitely not a heart leaf. It looks like a green birkins possibly

    If the baby leaves are dying I would check the roots. It could be root bound, or root rot. Pot size should be 1" larger than the roots ball. And should be a chunky well draining soil, like Sol soils or rosy, etc.

      To propogate these can be difficult because the nodes can be close together. But you'd want to snip off below a node, and put the node in moss/water/soil. Ideally rooting powder, Water well

    It could be an Emerald green Congo philodendren. Although the leaves should be bigger but i can't really tell if they're big or small lol they like chunky soil and water when almost all the way dry.

    It’s definitely Philo but not a heart leaf. (Shared pic of one of my heart leaf philos for comparison)
