Hey guys. We are in the process of starting our vegetable garden. All of the other plants are doing well. However, this ghost pepper plant died and I’m wondering if anyone can tell me what happened? The day after it got home I started noticing little holes in the leaves. I did spray it with neem oil in case something was eating it. When I dug it up, the stem was mushy and brown so it was definitely dead. This plant was probably in the ground less than a week and declined from the moment it was planted. We grow a garden pretty much every year and this is our 3rd year growing ghost peppers specifically. We’ve never seen this the past years.

it may have also suffered from some kind of infection in the roots paired with pests.

Thank you for your response. Do you think I should be worried about it spreading to the other plants? I have not dealt with this before and wanna make sure my others are fine.

i’d check the roots of the plants nearby if you notice any similar symptoms like the browning or mushiness then it’d be best to invest in a good fungicide to spray on the ground
