i was gifted this fiddle leaf fig, and although some new growth looks somewhat healthy, will it ever grow leaves back from where they cut them all off?

    You can try keiki cloning paste. There are several videos on YouTube on how to properly apply. Unfortunately it wouldn't let me post a link. I've had success with this method on some of my other plants.
