My mom’s really big succulent died, and this little one was left uprooted out of the soil sitting on the top. I want to keep it alive, but I’m not sure what to do. Do I leave it in a cup of water until it roots a little more? Do I need to put it in soil? It has little tiny roots about the size of rice.

Succulents actually do better when they’re put directly into soil. They can survive like that, but it’s extremely likely to get root rot and die in water.
