I transitioned my button fern inside yesterday for fall/winter. He was looking shriveled from the summer heat, so I watered him and put him in a clear plastic bag for 24 hours. He perked right up!

      Using a clear bag or enclosed container is a great way to help recover humidity loving plants while ensuring it is still able to receive light.

    My apt is always very dry but i love how cute some ferns look. can they survive okay without humidity indoors if you do that plastic bag trick every few months?

      That’s a good question… I’d say regular misting is a better bet. I know misting is highly controversial among plant parents, but I find that thin-leaved ferns (like Boston ferns) really need misting every few days. Or you can place your ferns near a humidifier, which they’ll absolutely love! 💧💚
