Hello! I am a beginner with indoor gardening but I’ve had this lucky bamboo plant for about a year. Got it from Lowe’s, but now the new shoots are turning yellowish green and so are some of the new leaves. I had it 12 feet away from the east facing window and moved it to 8 feet about a month ago. I have never fertilized or repotted it and it’s now just giving me problems. I water with tap water but I don’t think it’s over chlorinated, not sure. Any thoughts for help?

I’m experiencing something similar where the shoots are yellow but not the leaves. I removed all the rocks and repotted it into a different pot because the ones they sell them in don’t typically have drainage. Although you can grow it in water, it still doesn’t like sitting soggy for the one you and me have. That’s what I’ve noticed though… I have another that sits in water and still has some soil and is thriving. The one I have was also in a plastic pot within it and did not like it. You can try what I did but only if you’re willing to take a chance. I wanted to save mine since it was a gift from my hubby. Haha good luck!

Thank you! Okay, yeah I’ll try repotting it and see how that goes, definitely want to take the chance too because my hubby also gave me it lol. It looks like it is in a plastic container too within the ceramic. How is yours doing now that you repotted it. Should I do glazed or unglazed for the soggy factor? Thank you! :)

It’s doing better since I’ve potted it in soil. The yellowing stopped spreading! It’s actually in a nursery pot then in a ceramic pot but I was coat your pot if you’re going straight into ceramic!

Stop using tap water. At least filter the water with a Brit a water pitcher. Or better use distilled water. Tap water will kill your plants eventually
