Hi! I’m new to the plant world and need help ASAP 😭 For info I’m a cat mom who has cats that like to munch on plants. I live in a 500-600 square foot studio so I can’t separate them from Cashidy. Cashidy is a money tree that I just got on Tuesday and my cats munched away while I was at work on Wednesday and Tuesday night. I’ve read that money trees are indoor plants so I’ve been hesitant on putting her outside. Point being, how do I help her back to being healthy and happy with my plant eating cats around? Those are before and after pictures.

    I’m sure there are some pet deterrent sprays you could get and spray them on the pot. You could also spray something bad tasting on the leaves so if the cats try to eat them again it will make them stop and not want to eat anymore. If that doesn’t work you could always move the plant or put a net over the it.

      What kind of detergent and what bad tasting things can I spray?

      I don’t have a cat just a dog but I always use a biter cherry spray off of Amazon. After a month my dog stopped going near the plants and just started to ignore them. Any spray off of Amazon or pet co would work fine.

    I’ve also got cats so I’ve been here before😅 Getting a tall plant stand might help, there are some quite nice designs out there that help get plants out of curious cat range, but I would look for one with a sturdy frame incase the cats try to climb it while it’s new. I’ve also found getting a cat toy with movement (like a little ball or plush on a spring) can redirect the cats from playing with the leaves. (My cats liked the movement of the leaves so giving them an alternative that they could access on the floor seemed to work). I’d just keep caring for Cashidy as normal and once the shock has passed and some damaged leaves might die back, she should recover. Best of luck 🍀
