i got this begonia at the end of last summer, it’s tripled in size. i REALLY want it to bloom this year, im begging for tips growth and helping her bloom 🙏🩷 i’ve been consistent and learned a lot. i potted all pieces that ive cut off/grown with the mother plant in a pretty large pot. i take it outside sometimes as well but its super hot and dry around here.
My gma is the G.O.A.T. (greatest of all time! I would never call her a literal goat. LOL) she randomly gifted me this red kiss begonia in this beautiful little pot!!❤️ Don’t forget to check up on your grandparents yall! Eat some food together and discuss what you’ve learned abt plants. They might teach you something new and/or give u another plant.
Hi Begonia friends!! Was hoping all y’all could offer some advice for a newbie. My mum was just gifted a cutting of what we think is a polka dot, but the leaves are a lovely red so not 100% sure on Planta’s identification. Anywho my mum’s more of an outdoor gardener feather than a houseplant keeper (and an Amazing gardener at that!) she was wondering if y’all had some tips for her to keep this beauty happy and healthy. She was also wondering if taking her new begonia outdoors in the summer would be ok for it. I’m more of a zz/pothos kinda houseplant keeper so I’m not sure what to advise. She’s in zone 3a or b in northern Ontario. So summers can get +25° to +30° in the summer with decent humidity depending on the year. She’s got a wide range of sun locations (shade/partly sunny/full sun) and she’s not thinking of planting in the actual garden, just to take the pot outside. She’s going to repot it today in soil, so was also wondering if yall had any tips on how to avoid transplant shock. Thanks so much!!!
I have this previously full and gorgeous Māori Haze that I found at a Target hiding in a self watering plant. Had it drying out in my north facing window and loved how gorgeous it was. Now I’m watching it revert back to green and tan while watching it grow out all these baby plants AND while losing leaves. I moved it to underneath a cheap red and blue grow light and that area also happens to have an essential oil mister (no more esssential oils). What did I do wrong? I’m not misting the leaves anymore but is the area just too moist? If I pull the plant out of the pot it’s all dark and wet up until that first inch of soil which is far more moisture than I saw when I first got it.
Help…what is going on with these guys!!!!!! They r my favorite plants my top wish list plants and I can’t figure it out!!! Also how do I do this part sun part shade thing in a house my smaller one is under a full spectrum light but under a shelf. And the bigger one I just can’t figure out if it’s lighting or what I just re did its soil just now thinking maybe a total redo will help…ughhh
I feel like she’s getting a little top heavy, is she still too small to snip a portion off of to help her stand up? She came from a cutting of someone else’s plant. If I can cut a portion, where would be the best place?

Is this the correct way to propagate a begonia? I made sure that each cutting had lots of veins. The pot is covered in Saran Wrap. I don’t want it to fail. Thanks!
Hi! Ive had a cracklin rosie for a few months now & its thriving! However, its beginning to get a bit too big & was wondering if anyone had any ideas for maintaining? Is it worth propping & trying to make a bushier plant, or perhaps start other plants from it?

My polka dot is thriving. My Looking Glass is getting there, love the metallic look to the leaves My rare begonia that was just a tiny baby that didn’t even have a name I don’t think, it died. It was in a terrarium. I guess I’m not good at those lol
Here’s my big beefer! She’s 10 years old, from a cutting from someone’s cutting from someone’s grandma’s old plant. She’s got a diameter of about 2.5 feet and I think I’m just leaving her in her pot until she tells me she’s done, at which point I’ll propagate again from scratch. It’s kinda fun growing older with these girls 🤘🏼
Why does Betty hate me. I think she needs repotted in a tiny pot with some orchid bark thrown into her soil mixture.

I think I killed my begonia. Never did a terrarium before.
Looking for an ID on this begonia. This is a propagation from the mother plant. This is not a Fedor. These leaves are about “4-5 right now. The mother plant has leaves that are “9 long. I call it a Giant begonia. It was bought from a Stauffers of Kissel Hill in Mechanicsburg, PA. At the time I bought it, it said Fireworks begonia, but it is not that either. I have both a Fireworks and a Fedor for comparison. I have never seen any other begonia get leaves that big. Any thoughts?
