First begonia ever and he’s just not poppin like I imagined. It’s been roughly a month and it’s still kind of ugh. Lowe’s store find I was hoping to rescue but nothing has changed and he’s looking a little blah

    How do you care for it? They don’t like to fully dry out but also can’t stand being soggy so there’s a pretty specific amount of moisture you want to water again when you notice. I have mine in clear planters so I can see the roots, once the soil looks just barely damp and the humidity clears from the air pockets is when I water. I also only bottom water and keep them extremely close to a powerful light. This video is right now, all my begonias in 4” pots sitting together, most of them have a white glass pot around the clear planter, but I can see that humidity fogging up this red rex.

    Sometimes they take a while to thrive if they were in rough shape when you got them. I bought several at the end of June that have only started looking better in the last week! On another note, yours looks like it might be a little thirsty.
