I have 2 begonias, a snow cap and a amphioxus. Has anyone successfully grown these outside of terrarium? My snow cap was fine but has started crispifying, my guess is humidity. My amphioxus was bought in a pretty sad state. I see some tiny new leaves but the current ones are crisping as well. I’ve seen so many conflicting things. I live in Seattle so pretty humid. My kitchen is currently 77° and humidity is 60% and I have pebble trays. Is it me?
I think I figured out the snow cap. I have it on a pebble tray with leca balls. Looks like it was enough to put the soil in contact with the soil. I think she’s just over watered. The other one I’ve put a gallon ziplock bag over it

Somehow mine did fine over winter with growlights but recently they are all furious and crispy with the weather change lol. Seattle here too
0개 좋아요Ooooh I didn’t even think about that. Ya, we’re in false spring so things are kinda back and forth. I did see some new leaves! Idk if it’s done throwing a tantrum or the ziploc is working.

0개 좋아요Well, I built a greenhouse so the snow cap is doing better. The amphioxus is still pretty bad. I finally removed it from the pot. I wouldn’t say the roots are rotted but def too wet. I repotted in an airoid mix and put it in the greenhouse as well.
0개 좋아요 Okay cool. Mine are not responding 😆 they are stable but not interested. Crazy! They were all doing so well. Something pissed them off not sure what. I have them in the back wall of big East facing window. They aren't getting worse but I see no big effort to push out leaves at the moment which is so unlike them
0개 좋아요That is one thing they have going for them they are still pushing leaves. I haven’t given up on them yet! I vote continue care as long as you can. I’ve read posts about half dead begonias that make a huge comeback, they were just throwing a fit
