Here’s my big beefer! She’s 10 years old, from a cutting from someone’s cutting from someone’s grandma’s old plant. She’s got a diameter of about 2.5 feet and I think I’m just leaving her in her pot until she tells me she’s done, at which point I’ll propagate again from scratch. It’s kinda fun growing older with these girls 🤘🏼
I LOVE Begonias and I had grown this variety from a single leaf. It lived for years too. Congratulations on your beautiful plant!

Please tell me what is your secret?!? I have a new one too me, much smaller but have lost quite a few leaves/petioles already 😭 I bet it's because you're in the US and I'm in the UK 😭

0개 좋아요 Hi Julie! The beefsteak and I had some struggles in the beginning! Leggy, dropping leaves, slow growth, all the things! She loves her southeast corner with mostly indirect light, a shallow and wide pot for the rhizomes to grow across, and since becoming root bound is thirsty all the time! I tend to water her weekly from above, even in my cold and rainy Oregon winter, and try to stick with room temp water that sat out to help evaporate chlorine. I hope this helps and good luck!
