Hi guys!! Very very very new plant dad here. I purchased this begonia in summer this year, I followed instructions on how to take care of it online but the poor little guy did not want to survive my office, it's fairly dry in here so I made sure to mist it and made sure the soil was nice and moist but still it did not wanted to thrive. I think it's gone now, just the stem is here. Is it too late to bring her back?
The same thing happened to me when I got my first rex. As long as the stem is not mushy,,there is always a chance. I ended up propagating my stem in spaghnum moss and then transferred it into semi hydro ( pon). I do run a humidifier occasionally and she has been doing great and made a full comeback. Most if not all begonias do not like to be misted, a humidifier or grouping plants closer together would be a better option. IMO it's definitely worth a try. Below is a pic of mine before propagating my stem in spaghnum moss and after potting in pon.

1 likeI have all my begonias in self watering pots so they can drink as much as they like. Misting may have been your issue. Most begonias do not like water on their leaves. Also depending on the variety some cannot acclimate to normal household humidity. I have some that have to be in a cabinet at 80% while others are fine at 40%. If you try to bring the stem back put it in a high humidity situation. Closed container of some kind with light. Begonias are beautiful once you get down what they want ☺️

Did it ever come back? Mine slowly died a painful death until all the leaves got mushy and fell off. I'm hoping I can bring it back to life but I'm not optimistic 😔
