Hey all! Newbie to Planta here! 👋🏼 Love my two Rex begonias. ❤️ I believe their varieties are “Salsa” and “Fedor,” but I’m still learning (aka scouring Google for pictures of plants that look like mine), so I may be entirely wrong. 😂

    omg they’re gorgeous! 🤩 I have a polka dot begonia (that is my most challenging plant rn…) and a red rex begonia I just bought that I don’t want to kill 💔 any begonia advice you could share with me would be amazing! (which soil mix, lighting, watering techniques you use, etc.)

      Thanks! ☺️ I love polka dot begonias! Don’t have one yet, but it’s on my list! They’re so pretty! For care, I’m by no means an expert, but here’s what’s been working for me: I use MiracleGro Indoor Potting Mix and water about once a week, checking if the top soil’s dry first. (If it’s moist, I hold off.) My Salsa begonia (if that’s what it is haha) also “tells” me when it’s thirsty – the leaves will droop. 😅 Originally, I had the Salsa on a window sill, but it didn’t seem to like the direct sun, so I moved it to bright, indirect light and it started growing like crazy! My Fedor is doing great in the same conditions. Just started looking into fertilizers and recently tried MiracleGro’s plant food spikes, but I think that’s what burned the leaves of my Fedor. 😞 I’m trying a brand called Leafy next. It had great reviews on Amazon – fingers crossed! 🤞🏼

    OMG they're stunning I'm over here telling myself no more plants but now I see a few more to be added tomy wish list 🤣 I have a polka dot and she is flourishing so maybe I could do a couple of the other varieties 😉 polka dot likes to be watered frequently but it is in a small pot, and it likes to be misted daily🤷‍♀️ and it loves the 70% humidity in the sunroom
