Hello everyone! I got this plant earlier this month, and I'm worried about it's foliage. I had it in a semi-shady spot in a south facing window--which, I realize, is not an ideal window position for a tropical plant--and the stem (which is hopefully visible in the first picture) appeared to stretch as if it were reaching for more light. I have since moved it to an East facing window, in bright light, but I seemed to have scorched the leaves. Am I misdiagnosing the issue here? Any thoughts or tips would be greatly appreciated!

    The East window should be great. That is a low level sun. There may be some scorching from the sun. It depends on how long the leaves were exposed to direct intense sun. Those leaves will not repair themselves. Are you sure you are not overwatering. The 2nd picture looks like the soil is really wet, not sure. I think if it’s too wet you can also get that discoloration and soft mushy leaf edges. They like moisture but not to be sopping wet. Use the Planta App settings for your plant (Gear in the upper right corner on your plant screen) to set a custom schedule for when you water your plant, say every 5 days. This will keep you consistent with watering. If going 5 days and you see leaves drooping, water and set to 4 days. Eventually you will get that the number of days right and your plant will be very happy. I don’t let Planta tell me when to water, especially with Rex Begonias.
