Hi all! I posted last night regarding my droopy begonia. I gave her a good water and let her drain overnight but she was still droopy. I staked the crap out of her stems in leaves in the hope that this would help her out. I was just wondering if you can you over do it with staking?
No as long as you’re not pulling too hard or breaking stems, you’re good
1 Like Could very well be transplant shock, a cold draft, low humidity, or shock from not having a watering schedule. Next time you repot, try using a chunkier soil mix with something like perlite, orchid bark, even LECA or a bit of cactus mix to allow more air flow than your typical all purpose soil. I know people on here use Mycorrhizae also to help with transplant shock, it is a beneficial fungus. Sorry if any of this was repeated on your last post, I didn’t read the comments, just what you initially wrote.☺️

1 Like It depends on the plant. My Cissus discolor unalived over half of its leaves and took 3 weeks to begin growing new ones. One of my alocasia’s fully unalived itself and I’m waiting to see if it regrows. And my monsteras, pothos, and aglonema’s have either not cared or bounced back in a couple days. As long as you’re not seeing signs of root rot (yellowing stems near the base especially), just give it time and try not to overthink it 😅

My Lucerna Begonia looks a lot like yours and she took a while to start new plant from cuttings. I use a Velcro strap for plants to keep mine upright.
So you think she’s okay? Not droopy enough to worry?
