So, I have a small group of plants. 2 avocados 2 lemon 1 orange. Should I bring them inside ? Will they survive the winter ? This is my first year winter with outdoor plants of any kind.

An inherited plant… not sure what it is and how to save him. He’s been living in this hanging planter basket. Maybe a ground cover plant? The leaves are kind of fuzzy. I removed all the dead limbs. I’m in zone 9b and things have gotten a little chilly. Before that, it may have been over watered as it rained in our area a lot. Any advice sure appreciated!

Hello! I’m based in Brighton in the UK - does anyone know how important it is to bring a potted olive tree inside during winter months? What about a non heated room eg a conservatory?

So I've got one of them fancy angel wing plants recently and am considering repotting him into better soil. But he's got a cute little ecosystem living on top of him and I'm kinda not wanting to get rid of it cuz I love the look... Is this okay to leave on him? Or is this bad stuff to have around your plants? I love moss so I'm sad to see it go if that's the case, but I want the plant to be healthy. Please advise! This is my first outdoor plant. I live in Canada/BC and I've been keeping him indoors... Mainly cuz I don't really like bugs in my plants and there's fewer inside haha... Is this also a bad thing to do for an outside annual? Aren't all plants supposed to be outdoor plants? Why can't I keep this one inside ? 🤔

Any tips for millipede explosion in outdoor raised beds? I live in South Florida so I was expecting a good amount but they are taking over the garden and need to curb this population.

Hi! I’m super new to all of this and somehow ended up with a meyers lemon tree that’s not doing too well. It’s potted in a 16in pot currently, has been outside, and watered in the recommended intervals. Leaves have fallen off and are no longer dark green, and there are thin roots visible at the top of the soil. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!! Please let me know what I need to do!

right now i have a north facing balcony that doesn’t get much to any light at all but i should be moving to a place with more light outside, and i was wondering what kind of plants i can start to grow outside in late fall early winter, i live in zone 8b id like to grow a combination of edible plants and just plants in general if anyone has any input :))

I’ll be planting some asiatic lily bulbs in an above-ground garden bed this week, but I’m trying to figure out what type of soil to pick up to plant them. They’re mature bulbs that have bloomed before, and I’ve read that these lilies like sandy, loose, or loamy soil. When I was trying to look up soil brands, I got a mix between recommendations for indoor potting mix and garden soil, so I’m a little worried about getting the wrong type of soil for these guys. Does anyone have any brand recommendations, or know if I should go for garden soil or indoor potting mix for these beds? TIA for any help 😊

I’m trying to plant some Asiatic Lily bulbs in a small patch of soil at the front of my house, but I’ve run into a few snags. 1. The soil is very hard and dry from drought, and I’m currently trying to pour a ton of water on it to loosen it and remove all of it. The soil is very poor quality that I didn’t put in, so I’ve bought top soil and amendments to replace it. I expect it to take a while to replace the soil, but I’m willing to do it. 2. The bulbs are mature and have bloomed before. They’re currently in pots 7 inches tall and they’ve got roots poking out of the drainage holes. There is cement about 8 inches under the soil I’m changing out, so I’m worried I’m not gonna have much room for these roots to grow This brings me to my question: should I opt out of trying to fight the cement and horrible soil my HOA had landscapers put in so we couldn’t plant anything, and try for an above ground planter box to plant these bulbs? Or should I try to spread the roots out more width wise and remove all the old soil, planting them with new soil and hoping for the best?

Blow freezing temperatures are coming where I am and planta is still telling me that I should be watering my outdoors perenials. Should I be modifiing the schedule or will planta stop telling me to water when it may become dangerous for the plant?

Unfortunately it is now fall where I live. I can’t grow anything outside. So I’m using my little greenhouse to grow my plants. Can someone tell me what plant this is? I accidentally planted it without really paying attention which seed I planted. I have two seeds I bought. one is catnip, and the other is spearmint. Can someone please tell me which one I planted? 😫

My mom wanted me to ask about her lemon tree. She said that it’s always been full and this year it’s been sparse and when the fruit starts growing, it falls off before it ripens. They moved recently, but I think they are in the same zone still. Although it is significantly less humid than where they come from. Any tips or ideas about what’s going on?

I have two varieties of June bearing strawberries I put in pots this summer. I have pruned all runners and flowers in an effort to get the best root systems in place for next spring. Nights are starting to cool off in middle-Tennessee so I have relocated the pots into the garage to prevent root damage when we start getting freezing temps. I’ve heard that you should remove foliage down to about 1 1/2 inches above the crown for winter but am unsure if I still do this if they are in the garage? They are garaged earlier than I had planned just because I didn’t know what kind of damage the recent hurricane might do. I don’t really want to drag them back out into the yard for two or three more weeks but do feel like winterizing them is still too early. This is my fist year with strawberries so any suggestions or help is appreciated. I do have grow lights on them for 12 hours a day in the garage.

I live in a hardiness zone 4a, 3b and have several annuals outside ie impatients begonias. Should I be doing something with them with the winter coming?

So I’ve got about 3 avocado sprouts right now, when do I plant them ?
