I really want/need to move these to a better spot. Is it too late? The area they are currently in gets sun for basically 20 hours a day in the middle of the summer and the heat reflects off of the house. They survive, but it takes keeping water constantly running to keep them alive. My strawberries are the same story... well actually worse. I have managed to keep the strawberries alive for 3 years, but they struggle hard and they almost didn't come back after a 3 day vacation in the summer last year.

    I don’t think you need to move these. These look like brambles in the back and the rosettes look like mullein. These are both extremely drought tolerant and thrive in harsh light. Often these plants just “move into” environments like this when other plants don’t do well. If it’s the aesthetics you don’t like, consider prettying it up with some low maintenance/low water plants. Add some mulch and 2-3 other drought tolerant plants (snake plants (if you’re in a warm climate), grasses like dwarf mondo, agave, portoluca if you want some color, etc) to improve aesthetics if that is your goal. Right now the plantings look wild/unintentional but they are actually doing fine where they are. Be careful to not overwater and cause root rot. As for strawberries, I don’t know enough about that to comment but brambles and mullein I grew up with. Good luck!

      They are raspberries that I planted last year. 2 out of 4 survived, but just barely. The other plants are evening primrose, and they grow like weeds here.
