I just bought some lovely plants from a plant sale, and I forgot to ask the lady if I can plant these directly into a bigger pot (they’re in some specific type of pot that feels like wet cardboard), or do I take the pot off of the plant before planing? Idk if that makes sense but any help is appreciated
those are peat pots! technically they should be able to plant directly in the pot like that and break down over time, but i’ve heard people say it takes too long to break down and can stunt the plants growth. I’ll typically poke a lot of holes in the bottom and then tear away the sides of the pot before planting, it tears away easily and you can compost the pot
