carebearthis looks like overwatering, your soil looks much too moisture-retaining for a succulent. even if you stick your finger in the dirt it may feel dry but the bottom is most likely still very moist. it looks like you still have one good leaf on there so i would repot in cactus/succulent soil with lots of perlite/vermiculite for aeration of the roots, and only water when the healthy leaves feel slightly squishy or wrinkled. just because the soil is dry doesn’t mean it’s ready to drink yet, succulents store water in their leaves so it’s super easy to give them too much water. i hope this helps :)

I just got it and the dirt is just damp I haven’t watered it! I just planted it in a pot I had. And I got it looking like this today!

oh my bad! then it was definitely the store you got it from that was doing the overwatering, still i’d change the soil and hope for the best :)

The root on it is as tall as the pot so that’s why I put it in that one

Yes take the bad stalks off and if there are bad roots take them off too
