I started so herbs indoors in february and only the more thick leaved ones lasted (basil, rosemary, peppers) but my sage cilantro and dill all died because anytime i watered them they would get stuck to the dirt and would mold. should i have just misted them? i want to re start them because i still have seeds but i dont want to kill them.
It's called damping off disease. Copper sulphate apparently will help with any fungal infections. I've never tried it though

Maybe try bottom watering. You could also add a small fan on low to help evaporate excess water and help strengthen the stems.
2 likesI try to Aerate the soil often, usually leave a chopstick in there and when I pass by I just stir the soil around. Bottom watering will help as well
