Hi everyone! I am in dire need of advice for the boxwood shrubs in my front yard! They are about ten years old. At the beginning of the season, they were a pale green, but as the weeks went by, they turned yellow and dry. It has been rainy and wet this spring, so I suspect overwatering. Any advice is appreciated! I’m very upset about this potential loss.
What it looks like are the common burn symptoms of the boxwood being sheered back on a very hot or sunny day. I know you mentioned that it’s been raining a lot but if they are already well established at 10 year old, overwatering shouldn’t be or would not necessarily be the cause for the entire hedge structure to brown like this. Even boxwood blight would spread differently. I would aim for cutting them back on an overcast day with no rain. The rain potentially spreads disease and sun causes leaf burn. I think they will recover in time.

좋아요 1개 Sure, add some fresh compost along the base and give them a good feed. I use a lot of Espoma products (Amazon or big box stores) or Bloom City- Tree & Shrub fertilizer works well for me. I purchase mine from Amazon.
