Received this lovely ceramic toad from my great aunt. He’s recently been tucked between two plants outside to keep guard of my spring bulbs. Thought I’d share in case anyone’s looking for fun things to place in their garden to ward off any critters. Lately he’s been scaring off the big dogs that try to get to my dog during her walks, allowing her to sunbathe in peace on our front steps. I’m thinking of calling him Henry, or Harold.
His other companion was gonna be this ceramic turtle, but sadly, she was broken during the moving process 😢 they’re about the size of my dog (I own a 6 year old shih tsu), for reference, so any dogs or animals that come sniffing around the front of my house get startled and step back from where I planted my flowers. Would love to see anyone else’s little garden trinkets
I have a lovely ceramic turtle as well. Do bring them indoors if you live in a cold winter state. Mine broke with our extreme negative temperatures this last winter.

A treasure! I love his story and he looks like you don’t want to mess with his territory 😂 I have a resin prince frog gifted to me by my youngest daughter. I will never forget she had come home excited telling me she has a gift for my garden. He rules amongst the cacti and keeps the spider mites away.
Oh my god the frog is gorgeous!😱❤️ that’s so sweet of your daughter 🥺. My great-aunt recently moved up north to live near us. She just turned 92, and we’ve been taking care of her dog since her husband’s passing. Her sister (my abuela) was the one that got me into houseplants and gardening, so I love having a little more of the family in the garden.

1 Like Thank you. He was very close with the dog. Literally used to carry her around wherever he went. She’s a sweetheart (and very cat-like 😂), and now my mom’s her favorite. I’m very thankful that she ignores my plants once I let her sniff them one time once I bring them in.
