Anyone have any tips for mature bougainvillea and Chinese box ahead of termite tenting? Fumigation company says they think it is mature enough to not die but will lose leaves and “look ugly”. I read about drenching roots right before fumigation, which I will do. I’m wondering if I cut it back afterward will I shock it?
So the common chemical that exterminators use is sulfuryl fluoride. Soil drenching works help fight off the chemical runoff. I would suggest it. Now the plant foliage will be lost and should be fine, as long as the roots are good then the plant will be fine. Just not the most pleasing to look at until next season. The plants leaves will start yellowing and falling due to the chemical you can either cut them back or let the plant do its own thing up to you. Don’t fertilize, I’d say give it a month and let it take course then apply as needed.
