I just transplanted watermelon seedlings and they are now very droopy. How do I fix it? I am assuming it is shock. There were four plants potted together and I separated them before planting.

    Did you water them after planting? If so, then yes, it's probably just shock. They will likely recover over night. If not, give them some water in the morning. Best of luck.

      Two of them look a little better today. The leaves don’t look like they will survive. I did put some shade over them and they were watered immediately and planted in fresh soil.

      That’s what I was thinking. I may just have to restart. It’s already getting very hot here.

    The one time I was successful with watermelon was sowing them in the garden. They were planted in late April in direct sunlight, when temperatures were already getting high in Texas (zone 8b) with a lot of watering. They did better than starting indoors. I’d throw some seeds in the mix and wait for the magic. Then you can compare to those started indoors and you’ll know which is best for next year! Best of luck!

      Thank you. I will try that. I have had success with seeds in a shaded garden bed before. This bed is in direct sunlight but I will throw some seeds in.
