I would like to spend this summer pottering in my garden and getting to know it ready for redesigning and overhauling it next year. Other than weeding what can I do on my garden, I'm hesitant to buy plants this year as I've yet to decide what plants I want to get. I have spent the last week tidying up the patio and garden steps, I have also deadheaded plants, weeded and mulched the flowerbeds. Other than sowing some poppy seeds that I self harvested Ive run out of ideas 🙈😅

    If you plan on adding vines next year, attaching discreet wire trellis/chicken wire to select sections of the fence would be a way to prep for next year! (I'm a vine enthusiast though, so that's just my opinion. Idk if you plan on going the vine route.) Another thing you could do is browse the web for simple garden layouts. People have come up with amazing designs all graphed out, balancing color and plant needs. Might spark inspiration and help give you ideas for what plants you want!
