Identifying help please Hello everyone! I am in Alberta Canada. I just spent hours in my flower bed getting it ready for spring. I found this ‘weed’, first time ever, in my flower bed. It has spread shockingly amazing fast. Not sure if it came from my lawn to flower bed or vice versa. It could’ve been a hitchhiker from a new plant from last year. I pulled more than an ice cream bucket full of the roots in a small 15’ section. I still have more to pull. This is new growth, so cannot tell if leaves are prickly. Doesn’t grow in clumps, yet, like lamb ears. You can see from the picture, the roots are basically horizontal and 1 to 4 inches deep. Very similar to quackgrass or invasive Bellflower (I’ve had) root system. Google and plant ID apps have not been successful identifying. Thought it could be wild lettuce (l candenasis(?)) except the roots aren’t milky or scent when broken. Golden rod? Maybe too young to tell? The root system is throwing me off. Stumped. Ideas as to what it is? Thanks in advance! 😊
