Anyone know what’s going on with my cucumbers and tomatoes? Wilting and dying even though I water when the first inch is dry. I tried to save with first Saturday lime but no luck. They are next to squash could it be a vine borer? Thank you!
Your cucumbers definitely succumbed to the squash vine borer, there is a huge hole at the base of the stem, that’s the larva that hatched from an egg and bored into the stem and is wiggling around and eating the plant from the inside out. Idk if this is savable, since it looks pretty far gone, but the only sure fire way to get rid of it, is to literally cut into the stem (where you see a bulge, could be far up by now) and pull out the grub. Then suture the whole stem up and pray for it to bounce back. The tomatoes, almost looks like root rot and/or fungal with the way the tomatoes look, hard to tell with the lime powder all over it if maybe it is powdery mildew too
