Okay, it’s my first time gardening and I’ve had success with all of my vegetables except for my cucumbers! These guys are taking over my ENTIRE garden, but I haven’t had a single cucumber and it looks like none of the flowers are blooming into cucumbers, some of them are even dying. What am I missing here?
It would be helpful to give them a trellis. They'll climb that instead of sprawling. That will also make it easier for pollinators to access the flowers. Another benefit is that trellising will protect the fruit from rotting on the ground. I've circled a female flower for you. The females will have a teeny little fruit behind the flowers and the males will not. If you have an open flower of each you can pluck the male flower and apply his pollen to the middle of the female flower to pollinate, if you like.

Here’s mine I’m in a subtropical climate so it’s been warmer here longer, so don’t fret that if you’re not in that kind of climate. Cucumbers can be a bit tricky. They always start off looking great, but then they get a little finicky. You can’t overwater them, but you also can’t let them dry out. They don’t like it too hot or too cold—there’s a sweet spot they seem to prefer. You can self-pollinate them, as someone else mentioned. I’ve used a tiny paintbrush before to help move things along. Also, make sure to pick your cucumbers once they hit maturity for the variety you’re growing—leaving them on the vine too long can actually slow down production of the next round. I’m no expert, but I’ve grown cucumbers for a few years now, and that’s what’s worked for me.

0 Me gusta Okay yall here’s an update, this is pretty bad!! 😂 so I only currently have one trellis I need to go buy three more because little did I know how big these things get and I have four cucumber plants that I strung along all of this one trellis!!! 😂 progress, but definitely need to get this thing more help
Is that one cucumber plant? You need to find the end and untangle it. Once that is complete I would use the wispy pieces that wrap around a trellis and start having it climb. Due to lack of pollinators you need to self pollinate. Look up what females vs male flowers look like and pollinate them yourself… but as of now without completely fixing the trellis situation I would not encourage any fruit to grow.

I only have one extra trellis currently but will be running to the store tomorrow to purchase more 😭😹I had NO CLUE these things grew like this! Now I know 😂I will definitely be self pollinating after I fix this whole situation.
