So what should I be looking for with my basil??? 🥲 how do I know if they’re healthy or not?? I’ve had them about a week lol

    Cut off the flowering tops, you don’t want them to flower. But they look pretty healthy to me!

      When it flowers, it changes the taste of the basil to a more bitter and less sweet…… because …When a plant puts flowers/seeds out, it is trying to change into a reproductive phase instead of keeping its energy into foliage(which is what we want out this type of plant) Also, in return you are “topping” the plant off which will make it bushier instead of a one tall stalk. So there ends up being a few reasons why cutting the flowers off are a good idea. Main one is taste though !

      They bloom flowers and make seeds this makes them bitter tasting.
