Any tips for a newbie growing in garden bed? Iā€™ve got some onions as well as some different bell peppers and a jalapeƱo pepper. As well as some spearmint in a pot.

    You can use something like grass clippings or straw to mulch the bed. This helps drastically with water retention and weed control. Peppers will be easy because they will self pollinate so no work there. Onions love nitrogen in the beginning so youā€™ll get a larger bulb/onion, I use blood meal about every other week.

      Exactly what it sounds like lol šŸ’ā€ā™€ļø Its a nitrogen rich fertilizer, it will keep bunnies out too.

    Listen to the Joe Gardener podcast- he is amazing. The Neptune fish and seaweed fertilizer is amazing. You can plant some bush beans in between the peppers while you are waiting for them to grow- they will take a while to produce unless you started them in Jan/Feb, and beans will also pull nitrogen into the soil especially if you innoculate them. Or some herbs or marigolds.
