What type of shrub is this? I’m not getting a consistent id on this shrub. It’s about 5 years old. It can grow really tall, I just cut it down to about 6 ft but the branches were rubbing against my leaf gutters before I pruned it. It was id’d as a crape Myrtle, and a Ligustrum. Not sure I agree with either. Never seen a bloom on it in 5 years.
I’d agree with Crepe Myrtle. Same leaves, same rosy color on the new growth, same branching habit.
1 j'aime Really!! I haven’t seen a single bloom! Is it possible that it’s under stress and that’s why it isn’t blooming?
0 J'aime Gosh I’m not sure, it could be! My first thought is that this is a really small specimen of a crepe Myrtle so perhaps it’s still young or dealing with being cut back more than it would like… do an internet search, there are lots of good care articles to help you analyze further. I’d post a link for you but this app blocks link posting unfortunately.

Looks my two crepe myrtle bushes. I am amazed mine survived Florida Freezemageddon earlier this year!
