Planta says this is a plantain lily or hosta. I keep it watered. Is this sun damage? It faces south in my Denver garden I.e., lots of afternoon sunshine.

    I believe plantain lily is another name for hosta, so both would be correct. It looks over all pretty healthy to me! I find that some plants grow a few weird leaves while they’re still getting established. Generally hosta prefer shade, but I’m not seeing sun bleaching on yours. This is typically what I see in sunburnt hostas. If you’re still adding to your garden, feel free to plant something tall next to it or place some decor that shades your hosta, if you’d like to err on the side of caution

    So, hostas are great shade loving plants but can be in a little sun. In this image it appears to be a nutrient/soil problem. Part of the problem could be too much water or not enough nutrients in the soil. Check the watering firstly, secondly fertilize and third watch watering on the leaves. Hostas hate that 😔

      Time to fertilize. I guess I really need to do a soil test. 🤩

      It occurs to me I water it everyday because I thought the curling leaves meant not enough. 😬

      Definitely check the water first, if it’s too wet then lay back. If that’s not the issue then fertilizing would help.
