Hello! First time flower gardener here, last year I killed some mums so I need a bit of guidance. So I have two mini King Salvias and a new hybrid of carnations I believe (could be wrong) called paint the town pink. So the Paint the town pink flowers the roots are coming out of the pot and so I need to repot them. But the salvias look fine. Anyways, what type of well draining soil do you all recommend, pots, and also watering? I am getting mixed results from my own research since some say consistently moist others say to let it dry out and these are perennials so I want them to make it.

    Your pink ones look like a type of dianthus (which is a type of carnation). They are HARD to kill 🤣 I have several different types of dianthus in pots, I usually just go a bit bigger than what it comes in, use whatever potting mix is on sale and water daily when weather is hot (80+) every two or three days or so as it cools down.
