This maybe my best photo I’ve taken. Of course accidentally took this one.

Magic. Does anyone know the variety of bee those little skinny guys are? Obviously not a honey bee… But I’ve been seeing a lot of these little guys around my garden lately too! I recently learned (documentary) that we humans made a big mistake (no way!) in thinking that honey bees were the bees dying off and started making honey hives in our back yard, over-populating them. When in fact, the pollinators of 99% of most flowers are other varieties of bees that have mouth parts that fit into other shaped stamens etc. The now huge over-populations of honey bees are wiping out the good strong pollinators making the problem worse! 🙄

I think they are sweat bees at least that’s what my family has always called them

Very true Danika sorry for the delay in replying! I believe it’s a sweat bee like Mamaz said. I do think over populating honey bees will obviously throw the ecosystem out of wack. We need to remember as custodians of the wild that nature can and will balance things out if we leave it be. Any ways how’s everyone doing? Plants going well?

Yes! Well said! Today, i was in my outside garden removing dome dried sheaths from a bamboo palm and upon removing them I noticed the remnants of what looked like mealy bug sacks. And i did absolutely nothing! My approach these days for my outside plants in general is pretty hands off since i have so many spiders and natural predators that will and are doing there job! Spring is certainly in the air! Explosions of life everywhere! 🌿
