When we create living soil environments for our plants we’re also creating suitable living space for many many species of animals. We just rehabbed our front gardens by replacing the industrial dead soil they used with live healthy soil and added in microbes, nematodes and other beneficial bacteria. Before we had zero animal life…. Now we have tree frogs, toads, rabbits, deer, foxes and more song birds than I can name.

Yay! And THANK YOU! Its so important for us humans to teach each other how to preserve the earth in which we have ignorantly decimated. Such a small thing for such an impact and reward! 🐸

Yes! To see our work create a nice new environment for native plant and animal species is a huge reward in itself. I love how many pollinators we have now. Every fruit and vegetable I plant is pollinated. So that’s another plus!

Thank you for sharing this! 😍 Now I’m wondering for my own garden, how did you ethically/properly source these new biological additions? (Eg. I obviously don’t want Amazon to ship me a bunch of invasive things…) How do I do this too? 😃

Ok where do I start lol. Find a good source of live soil that someone can locally deliver. Call your local agricultural extension ask them what nematodes or other biological additions are normally found in the soil. And then also ask how you can source them without Amazon. Also plants like Hemp(check legalities) can remove any pollutants in the soil and regenerate it. They are a miracle plant. Also keep your own compost with local decomposers(bugs mainly!) also your local agricultural extension will have good ideas as well. Hope this helps! Removing old dead soil and replacing with live soil should make a huge difference. Use other steps if you want to really go for it.
