I’m a beginner and want to learn more about gardening I live in Southern California near LA more or less and what to know what app to use , plants ect are best to grow out here I want to grow veggies to edible flowers to fruits to herbs

    Purslane is the best one to start. I had that and will put it in salad and everything clean it up and eat it raw.

    All purpose mixing soil added with some vermiculite it helps with moisture and nutrient retention

    Potatoes are always easy with a bag planter that can hang anywhere. Happy frog potting soil will give you ample supplies of potatoes just shade them and keep watered when it’s hot. Sunflowers would also grow really well and it’s edible from root to stem and seed. Again just keep watered it temps above 90.
