I’ve got some new tomato and squash plants. The gardener I got them from said they have a hydrogen (if I remember correctly) deficiency. How do I help them??? They also said to pop off the flower.

    Most likely Nitrogen. It looks like they’ve flowered too soon. So hold back the flowering by plucking them off. I’d use a balanced fertilizer. I like this one. Transitioning them outdoors would help too

      Would miracle grow work? It’s the only liquid fertilizer that I have 🤷‍♀️ and they have been outdoors since I got them

      I’m not a fan of miracle grow anything. If you have compost that’ll work. When they go in the ground I’d add some compost too

    If you need nitrogen you can always mix in some coffee grounds to your soil. You’ll not know how much unless you test your soil properly.

      Still I’d use a “balanced” fertilizer. If there aren’t enough other nutrients and too much nitrogen you’ll cause nitrogen toxicity which prevents the plant from holding on to other nutrients like calcium phosphorus and potassium. Everything needs balance ⚖️
