I have a planter with 4 dahlia s and 2 zinnias. I like the arrangement now, but am aftaid the planter may be too small and overcrowded. It’s my first time with dahlias. Any suggestions? Is this feasible? The planter is in a location with full sun. Zone 7. Thanks for the advice.
Zinnias like some space, they’ll produce more blooms. Little space, they’ll grow real tall, often too heavy for themselves, with a few, smaller sized blooms. They LOVE sun and prefer warmer temperatures, thriving at 80 and 90 degrees As for the dahlias, I can’t help ya there. But I do want to incorporate some in my flowerbeds!

Dahlias grow pretty tall. I’ve always planted mine in my flowerbeds. Dig the roots up and store for next year.
1 gillaThanks. Looks like my fears were not unfounded. I don’t have a flower bed yet. Will transplant these to larger pots then.
