Did this with a with a scindapsus cutting that was gifted to me, already in LECA (I think it’s a moonlight or silvery Ann) She already had a pretty long root but wasn’t growing any leaves. I changed her water, added just a bit of liquid fertilizer and added these cute mini LECAs. Do you guys think this is ok? This is my 2nd actual attempt. The Arrowhead was my first attempt and looks so pretty! But after doing a bit more research I’m worried I effed it up so please let me know! ☺️

I grow a lot of things in leca and pon. Currently I have 107 plants, and from thise only about 20 are still in soil. I am going to make a list of the leca and pon and start sharing photos 😀
Should a lotus plant be placed in LECA or clay soil? Also, what time of the year is best for germinating lotus seeds in zone 7a?
My FLF is my last plant left in soil. It was actually 2 plants in one pot, so I cut the top off of one plant and moved both pieces over to LECA to see how it did. The top piece lost all its leaves and rotted. The bottom piece had no leaves on it, so it was just a stump, but I found it starting to grow new roots (the white bumps)! I thought it was rotting when I first saw it, but they’re firm. As for the 2nd plant left in soil - I found it infested with fungus gnats and some other creepy crawlies that may or may not also be fungus gnats. I had just put it in fresh soil not even a month ago 🤷🏾♀️. I’m just gonna dump it and transfer the 2nd plant as well now and hope for the best!
Me again, i’ve been watching a lot of leca videos but still unsure whats the deal with it, i decided to boil it to make sure its sanitized since it came with a hole in the bag , how do you prep them? and honestly whats your tried and tested way of using them & when do you use them? Or is there someone in youtube that hit the nail on the head on tutorials? Are these the right kind? Any advice is gladly appreciated! 🙏🏼
Help! Last December 28 i decided to try my first monstera propagation. I didn’t realize it would unfurl this beautiful leaf with more fenestrations, I’ve just been using water usually about 2 inches high with a few drops of fertilizers. I noticed the root has grown but now i’m worried it’s gotten some root rot, is it? or is it normal? or should i redo and cut it and start over? i cut a bit of the stalk again and dabbed a bit of rooting powder on it to avoid more contamination. Panicking right now. Also should i just use leca instead of just water?
HELP!! im acclimating my tc’s that I got from Thailand about two months ago and they’re still in their water+air pump setup they’ve been doing just fine besides some leaf browning (no rotting roots) until this???!! DOES ANYONEE know what the heck its doing this??? Thanks!
As I’ve been transferring my plants over, I’ve been Googling to see how specific plants do in LECA, but I found pretty much no information about my aphelandra squarrosa (zebra plant). It’s been one of those plants that’s been an absolute pain since I got it. I could it never keep it happy and it kept dropping leaves. I tried to prop a few leaves in water and in LECA first, and those all died 🙄. So I just gave up and moved the whole plant to water for a week, and then to LECA. There wasn’t much left of it by then anyway and I fully expected it would just go ahead and die on me. Surprise, surprise - it didn’t even flinch when I transferred it over AND it’s been popping out new leaves like crazy 🙄😂.
So I’ve actually transitioned almost all of my plans over to LECA since I posted a few weeks ago (I do not recommend doing this so quickly BTW😓. It taken up ALL of my free time, and then some). BUT the majority of my plants are doing great! I lost a few, probably due to too much handling/adjusting their setup when they weren’t very strong/healthy plants to begin with. Another few were already on their way out from thrip damage, and I tried to save them with LECA and they died anyway. 😔 My red maranta is my only maranta that didn’t make it. It was one of the ones the thrips really destroyed. I bought another one recently that is very healthy. I started to take cuttings from it and put some in water and some in LECA to see how they did. I noticed today that several nodes of the mother plant already have these little white roots. Would these be potential water roots?? Or some sort of aerial root? I’ve never noticed them before on marantas.
Trying to save this peperomia, it was dropping leaves nonstop and I couldn’t figure out why, tried more water, less water, more humidity, more or less fertilizer, eventually I decided the issue could be the soil or root rot and following the tips from the Leca Queen on youtube I repotted it into LECA and hopefully it will pick up. I cleaned the roots very well and the leaves stopped falling so Im hopeful. No signs of growth tho and leaves are still quite droopy. Any extra tips are appreciated :))
I’m about to transfer my 6 month old neon pothos to LECA. Any advice?
Meet my baby Thai Constellation :) since he’s getting a new leaf, I’ve been considering getting a moss pole. Does anyone have experience with using a moss pole on monsteras in LECA?
My first hydro! Bought this Monstera today and it was begging to be repotted, roots growing from the bottom of the plastic pot, barely any soil left, I had to cut the plastic pot open it was so stuck with so many roots. I cleaned the roots removed a few and left all the big ones and some smaller ones. The plant looks so good I hope it doesn’t feel the transition too much! I added leca to the bottom of the glass cuz I only had a few left and then tao water. Now I am reading on this group about all there water solutions and Im unsure whag to do or where to start? I want to make sure shes happy and I dont ruin it .. it’s my first Monstera and I always wanted to have one! 🙏💛
My first plants in LECA. My raindrop peperomia propagation, my pilea, and spider plant. I did 3 others as well - African violet, watermelon peperomia, and a corm I found under my alocasia ninja - but didn’t take any pics yet. I have a few other plants I’m wanting to move as well but I’m putting them in water for a while first.

Was gifted a Birkin! I just rinsed out the roots and replaced the water. Added some Grow Big from FoxFarm. First time having a hydroponic plant and first time using FoxFarm. Wish me luck!
Transferred my heart leaf philodendron as my first LECA attempt!!
Just switched some plants over to leca and want to buy some fertilizer. How do I fertilize with leca, and does anyone have recommendations for what kind I should buy?
