Moved my plant to water because it had a mealy bug problem and they seemed to be thriving while my Alocasia was in soil. The water roots seem to be coming in but the plant doesn’t seem to be bouncing back just yet. I know it’s normal for some leaves and roots to die as the plant adjusts but I’m still a bit worried… should I be giving it fertilizer or something?
Hard to tell from pic, but have removed as much soil as possible from the roots?

0 Me gusta I switched all but one of my Alocasias to semi hydro. That transition may work better for you rather than directly to water. But must admit I’m a newbie at it.
2 Me gustaIf you rinse the roots again, try dipping them in a mix of 4 parts water to 1 part hydrogen peroxide. Most of the dirt will fall off.

You might be better off cutting the roots off and proposing new ones. Roots that have been in soil are more likely to just rot in water
