The Funstigator

My aesthetically pleasing (at least I think so) hydroponic (flood & drain) grow. There are 4 individual trays 48 inches long, 15 inches deep and 8 inches high. Each plant sits in its own square nursery style pot with LECA for support. There are 2 40 gallon reservoirs filled with nutrient solution. The trays fill up with nutrient solution 5 times a day ( while the lights are on ) for 5 minutes each cycle. The pH is automatically monitored 24/7 and if it goes beyond the 5.8 threshold I’ve set it is automatically adjusted, Here’s the final product

    Looks amazing. Where did you get trays that size? And what system do you use to monitor and adjust pH, does it just inject acid or you also have A and B nutrient reservoirs?

      Thank you! I got them from Amazon (see pic) they are plastic and I dressed them up with peel and stick faux wood flooring and some faux wood corner molding I use a bluelab pH controller that doses acid when my threshold is exceeded.

      At first I was using totes as my reservoirs but I didn’t really like that so I got proper reservoirs

    The trays are great for smaller plants but they are a bit shallow so today I am building another set up with these as they are taller

    Oh perfect. I’ve got 48 wide and 18 inch deep utility shelves for my hydroponic setup and have wanted to try a flood and drain for my starters and micros on the top shelf but haven’t been able to find the right size container. This may just do the trick. Thanks!

      My pleasure, happy to help. They really are nice trays. I see they are no longer on sale but keep an eye on them because they were $76 for a good few weeks
