    Try filling the water up to the bottom of the plant so all the roots are wet and don’t try out.

    Hi there, I usually keep the water level about 1/4 of the way up. The roots will find their way there themselves. Just fyi it gets quite challenging flushing a closed container system like this especially with a pole in it. You may want to consider other options in future to make life easier for yourself!

      So is the level okay as is or should I add more?

      I would err on the side of caution and have a little less in there. The amount there would be very maximum. When initially setting up, you generally fill up the water so it’s just below the roots. They then find their way into the reservoir themselves.

      I tried to do that but the plant already had pretty long roots so they were already reaching the bottom of the container when I put it in

      I feel you. People often chop off the secondary and tertiary roots from philodendrons which really helps with that problem. I find philos very forgiving when it comes to transitioning to semi-hydro. You may find that the thin roots that are sitting in the nutrient reservoir will rot off
